I don’t know which location. Are there multiple locations? All i know is the group of 11-12 kids who do sports together are now all going to RSM as well.

My children don’t need the tutoring but it helps with homework to have someone other than us review it. It’s free so I figured why not and it’s been really helpful. We did it last spring, all summer and now this school year.

Are these people getting paid or volunteers? Is this program in high demand?

I ask because when you said your kids didn't need tutoring, it kind of bothered me, thinking this benefit might come at a cost to others.

It’s offered to all students. My kids are benefitting from it so while they are on target, the help has been really helpful when we don’t know the subjects. In elementary we could do it all ourselves but now we cannot. There is no cost to others. Everyone has access to it and if they choose not to take advantage of what is being offered it’s on them.

There are multiple programs for tutoring available not just this one. Pay attention to your emails.

For gifted child that school has no resources for them due to young age, is mcps tutoring beneficial or are there outside enrichment resources that we can seek after?

ELA is always trickier but I'd say CTY or diy

from what i understand it's for those who need catching up. their format's different this year though so you should contact them for more accurate info

The tutors get paid. It is a private company that MCPS hires and pays for. Don’t feel guilty. It’s there for everyone. Your taxpayer dollars are funding it!

Most high schools have tutoring via their honor societies and those tutors are volunteers who do not get paid.

Usually Saturday school is for catch up/grade level and not enrichment but agree call and ask.

We find it beneficial but it really depends on the tutor.
