If you plan to get bivalvent booster, when?

Today! I had mild omicron in January so I think it's time.

Got the Moderna bivalent yesterday along with my flu shot. I travel by plane in a little over a week and hadn't had anything since the first booster (3rd shot total) last November.

Getting it Friday. I haven’t had covid yet, and had J&J plus moderna booster late last year.

One woman had been waiting for an hour and 15 minutes. I scheduled mine during my 1-hour lunch break so I had to leave after 30 minutes of waiting.

I have another appointment tomorrow but now I've seen several warnings on social media (reddit, twitter) that if your insurance isn't accepted at Walgreens, you can't get a booster there even if you want to pay OOP. That's annoying for several reasons: a) no, Walgreens is not a pharmacy that my insurance accepts; b) my insurance's 'find a bivalent booster near you' link literally took me to the Walgreens site to make my appointment; and c) no other pharmacies in my area currently have the bivalent booster atm.

I'll be mildly annoyed tomorrow if I show up and can't get one.

This sounds like fake news. The government is still paying for covid vaccines so they shouldn't need your insurance to get give you one. That will end soon, by next year you will need insurance or you'll pay out of pocket for the next shot unless Congress funds it, but for now, this is a free shot for all.

Same! I figured it’s a good time to re-up my antibodies. I work on a college campus and it’s crowded with hardly anyone wearing masks, plus my kids go to school unmasked. I don’t mask and I live a pre Covid lifestyle. The vaccine is the only mitigation measure I do at this point.

I say soon. Who knows when a new variant will come, and this booster will again be outdated. Might as get it now while it addresses the current variant.

Just got mine in McLean. I have not had covid. I did have a 2nd booster in April. (I'm over 50.)

This coming week. Young kids had their first booster in June but we (2 adults) were last boosted last Sept. It's been a year and we haven't had Covid yet so no natural antibodies.

My only concerns is we've had all Pfizer (and minor reactions minus swollen arm pits) and will get Moderna.

We’re going Monday. Neither husband nor I have had covid and boosted last Nov. everyone around us has been getting covid and we’re trying not to! With kid back in school I feel like a sitting duck. I’m still wearing n95 at work and thankfully even exposed have been alright so far, happy for the booster being available now.

Hoping all remain well!

DH and I just got boosted today. Neither of us have had covid (far as we know). We’re traveling internatiionally in a couple weeks so timing of the booster release worked out well.

CVS on Chain Bridge Rd. But many, if not all, CVSs are scheduling appointments now.

The vaccines offer a pretty short protection period against preventing infection, but more lasting protection against severe illness. Just so you're aware. Best to keep up with other mitigation measures like masking if your goal is not to get it at all.

Getting it today. I had covid at the end of May but as I understand the timing that was a different variant.
