If you plan to get bivalvent booster, when?

I have not had this variant to my knowledge and have only had one booster. Trying to decide when to get this booster to balance the fact my kids just started back at school (so more exposures) with wanting to have best protection over cold/flu season.

I work in an elementary school. I just scheduled mine for the week of Sept 12. Four teachers have had or currently have COVID since school started 2 weeks ago.

Our pediatrics office (Capitol Medical) does a covid newsletter. They recommend getting the booster in "the next month or so" for those who haven't had covid or a booster in the last 3-4 months. They also mention that if you have a big event, 2-3 weeks ahead of time is a good time to get the booster.

I had my only booster all the way back in October (under 50), and I am scheduled to get the new booster this week on Thursday. As far as i know i've not had Covid.

Had post vacation covid in July. Planning to get the bivalent in October, probably at the same time as the flu shot as I did last year.

I had COVID in late July/early August, and I am tentatively planning on getting it about 3 months after I had COVID--so late October/early November. If I hadn't had COVID recently I would get it as soon as I could.

Sept 7th!
The first day Walgreens has the doses in this area, I believe.
Some posters have come on here to claim CVS has some now, but the pharmacist I spoke to on the phone said they wouldn't arrive until next week.

As far as we know, none of us 2 adults and 2 tween/teen have had Covid.

As soon as possible. My family hasn't had COVID and I have to travel by air for work soon.

OP, you should get it as soon as possible. You are vulnerable now.

I got shot #4 early June for summer protection. (Turned up stuffy and + two weeks later, but didn't transmit to 3 extended close contacts. *shrug*) I'm aiming for mid-October for both the bivalent and flu shot, and then hoping to be on good timing for 6 month shots here forward.

The pharmacist you spoke to is wrong. I checked the computer records of the vax I got yesterday at a CVS in Vienna and it literally says Moderna Bivalent.

The Pfizer ones seem to be arrived mid next week at Walgreens anyway.

I got a Moderna booster at Giant pharmacy today. Since it’s targeting the Omicron BA4/5 variants, may as well get what the vaccine is aimed at combating. In a two months we may have different variants circulating. I’m of the “get it while the gettin’s good!”’philosophy. Also my kids are in school with lots of unmasked kids and that is nerve-wracking.

I had Covid in early July so I’m planning on getting the booster in October.

Getting it on Wednesday -one of my kids is already sick (3 negative Covid tests so far) and was only in school for a week. Flu shot will probably do early October or late September.

Have an appointment for next week. My work is bringing everyone in from all over the country in October and I want to be protected heading into that mess.

Same situation as you op. My kids did have omicron in January. I plan to get the booster this week. My last booster was in November, I believe.
