What age is too old for a twin bed?

We'll check in sometime next year!

College dorms usually have twin xl or twin beds. It really sucks.

It was great when we had guests visiting because an adult couple could sleep in our kid's bed and the kid could sleep with us on the king bed. If my kids wanted to have a parent nap with them, we could do that easily on a queen sized bed.

I find it ridiculous to make kids sleep on tiny beds. Why?

What a bizarre point of view.

1) Because a twin is not a tiny bed. Adults shorter than 6 feet fit just fine in them.
2) Because a twin is smalller and easier to make.
3) Because a twin is smaller and leaves more space in a bedroom.
4) Because a twin is smaller and less expensive.
5) Because not everyone lives in a mcmansion.

Ok. Let me rephrase, if you are not living in a shit-shack and are not poor why make your kids sleep on a twin?

Any age. Even if the rooms are large, twins are easier to make.

We have space in each of our 5 bedrooms for a queen bed, side tables, desk and also a sitting area. We have walk in closets and ensuite bathrooms in each. So we have plenty of space. However, we also have lots of house guests most of the year because we live in DMV and people come here for touristy reasons too.

We had two of our kids move in from their apartments during the pandemic and wfh and it worked because they each had their space.

Seriously? I make close to $1m and live in a big house and my kids still sleep in twins, as did I when I was a kid. You're delusional.

I only bought a full size bed (futon) when I was sick of trying to share my dorm issues twin bed with another person. But until then, twin.

And my kid will have a twin until she goes to college. And her room could fit a bigger bed, but there’s no reason for it

Is he going to be tall? Otherwise, my dh can sleep on a twin and he is 6'feet.

I sleep in a twin in our office every night because our husband snores. Unless you’re super tall why do you need more bed if sleeping alone?

Our rooms are too small for that.

NP. How can you be so nasty? This isn't rhetorical. I want to know how you can type that and live with yourself. Did your life go horribly wrong and you only feel better by attempting to insult and hurt people?

My parents bought me a queen bed when I went to college, however my bed at home remains a twin, and my boyfriend and I slept in it no problem.

My one kid has a loft bunk, my other kid has a queen. Both work great for sleepovers.

I slept on a twin until I left home. (Twin in dorm, then a full when I got an apt in college, twin still back home.) But I had two twin beds in my room for friends to sleep over. Eventually my parents switched to a queen for guests after I got married.
