DCs official music? I am not slamming gogo but, you would be foolish to not think that some of the audience it attracts might not have prior beefs. Same with 'community street festivals'/ These all require enhanced security. Sad.

WTF!
I love go-go, I’m a 50 yr old woman so that somehow makes me a would be criminal? You are disgusting.

53 year old woman here. LOVE go go!!

The DC gun ban law was ruled unconstitutional years ago. You can have guns they just must be registered. NOT that criminals follow the law at all.

And Virginia has very loose gun laws.

And the astronomical crime rate in Virginia reflects that, too! There was a shooting at the Rolex store in Tyson’s mall on Saturday FFS! VA has FAR more shootings and murders than DC.

Um. You know Virginia is an entire state, right? DC is a small city.

How's that First Amendment going, America?

Yes, of course. It's the First Amendment that is the problem.

This has nothing to do with race other than the systemic racism that led to so much inequality. I resent provocateurs some of whom I think are progressives pretending race baiting and some of whom I think are not DC folk.

At issue is a balanced approach to dealing with criminals and policing. We need a change in DC and stricter but better policing too.

I’m going to take a wild guess given the primary tomorrow and say you are an agent provocateur for Ward 1 incumbent. Just butt out

There was a gun discharged at Tysons on Saturday by a DC criminal, but a murder on U Street with several others wounded over the weekend. NoVa is far safer than DC.

Why did the police just stand by and let an unpermitted, unruly concert go forward in a popular restaurant District?

I’m honestly impressed ppl try to spin this as an anti nadeau thing. Fine if you wanna support salah but it’s insane y’all keep turning a blind eye to bowser and her negligence + casual coverups. It’s an embarrassment

One of the organizers said that the location was chosen to push back on the gentrification of the neighborhood.

Tanking house prices ftw!

Considering the event was sponsored and promoted by the mayors office and her agencies, I’d assume she is also supporting these initiatives
