This has been happening to me with Expressie too. It just really dries the nails out. I am going to try using a base coat this time and see if it helps. I really like this polish, it truly dries quickly but it also lasts me for almost a week and looks great. |
Of course they don't tell you to take a break from it; they want to charge you for yet another gel mani. |
This happens to me with Deborah Lippman and Kur nail polishes. My nail salon says they have never heard of it happening to anyone else. I am in the middle of trying to grow out my damaged toenails.
I just have to be consistent about taking polish breaks very two weeks to avoid it. |
This happened to me on my toenails from regular Essie polish. I’ve been toe-polish-free since early September and the white is still there but has partly grown out (so apparently the white will have to fully grow out versus fading). This didn’t happen when I was younger, and I probably more regularly painted my toenails then (although I painted them myself back then, and starting in my late 30s shifted to salon pedicures). |
This has happened to me.
As a result I now skip polish during the colder months and do pedis with no polish. |
25 years in the profession and this happens with stronger polishes, and Gels, gelpolish, acrylics and others like those. I don't suggest leaving anything on your nails longer than 2 weeks |
