My nails and toenails lifted really bad after using Dazzle polish! |
+1 it was wonderful how long it lasted but my nails are still recovering. |
This happened to me when I used the Essie nail polish that lasts longer in the twist bottle. White spots/ lines all over toenails and fingernails. |
I believe a break is necessary when using any nail polish . My nail tech tells me to take polish off a couple of days before I come in for next mani/pedi, regardless of type of polish system. I do like Dazzle though!! |
Dazzle damaged my nails and still working thru the after shocks a year later. Nails are just starting to get healthy again but a few are still struggling. It was promoted as a healthy product. Any other options for nail polish that lasts for about 5-10 days? |
Professional manicure is here. The reason why your toenail has cracked in two is because manicurous behaving unprofessionally have filed your natural nail trying to get rid of the white patches but have made it thinner and thinner until there's nothing left. The white patches are nothing more than nail dryness as can happen with any polish. Not only does polish dry out the nail but it also continues to dry after application and shrinks pulling on the layers of the natural nail which makes these white patches. Also, white patches can be nail fungus caused by dirty nail salons. Every manicurist knows the rules of their state and laws of disinfection but rarely comply. This is why finding a manicurist who has morals is especially important. All of my clients get their own sealed manufacturer's bag of nail supplies, I clean tools with soap and water first and then use a hospital disinfectant on everything. I only use a no leak liner but still it's the law to properly wash and disinfect the pedicure tub after every service, all disposables get thrown away. |
Professional manicurist with 30 years of experience here. The reason why your toenail has cracked in two is NOT from Dazzle Dry, it's because of bad manicurists behaving unprofessionally, have incorrectly filed the top of your natural nail trying to get rid of the white patches (or ridges -not suppised to do this) and have made the nail thinner and thinner with every pedi until there's nothing left. Then the ruined nail splits. The white patches are most probably nothing more than nail dryness which happens with every brand of polish. Many people don't know that nail polish continues to dry after application and shrinks pulling on the layers of the natural nail making them seperate, which creates these white patches. They eventually just grow out.
Ever notice the new nail that's growing out has no white spots on it? Every manicurist knows the rules of their state and laws of disinfection but rarely comply. This is why finding a manicurist who has morals is especially important. All of my clients get their own sealed manufacturer's bag of nail supplies, I clean tools with soap and water first and then use a hospital disinfectant on everything. I only use a no leak liner but still it's the law to properly wash and disinfect the pedicure tub after every service, all disposables get thrown away, hands washed, disinfect the area after the client. All towels should be washed with bleach but don't throw up, many salons just put them in the dryer and reuse them. |
Im glad i read this info., all of that just happend to me, even the one on my hands which it only stays few days, my nails started breaking up, like big piece, almost after put it on, by the manicurist;the one on my feet, had the big white stuff the one person mentioned, happens to her. thats the reason im in this chat; looking for answer.
Does not sound too healthy to me. |
I was initially super excited about Dazzle Dry - it definitely dried faster and lasted longer.
But every time I’ve had it my finger nails have ended up peeling and breaking. I wish it didn’t happen bc I cannot make other manicures last longer than a couple days. |
I too have had nail fungus develop after leaving dazzle dry on too long. Never again, although I raved about how well it adhered. The recovery of my toenails will take months. |
Omg! I literally just saw my big toe nails ruined bc of dazzle dry. Thank you urban mom. There is a salon in DC that offers it with no warning. Infact i just asked the pedicurist what was going on and she didn't explain. This thread explained it. |
Always give your nails time to breathe. I get pedicures with no polish in the winter. |
This happens to my nails from gel manis/pedis, too. Nor does any salon ever give me advice to break from gel after using it 1-2 times in a row. I don’t think many nail salons are good at the education piece.
Can you remove dazzle dry yourself, or do you need to go to the salon for removal like a gel mani? that alone might make it worth seeking out (with the caveat to take breaks between the manis- thank you, OP!). |
I’ve used dazzle dry for over a year continuously on both nails and toes and have never had this issue and my nails are stronger than ever. I got approx every 2 weeks. |
