No A/C in my kids school for second day in a row

Janney?? Isn't that the jewel of DCPS where everything is paved in gold? How can they have AC problems? Surprised the PTA hasn't bought every class individual AC units to use in emergencies like this.

Currently there are about 10 spot coolers running. I’m not sure who supplied them. But there are still rooms with no AC. Neither central nor spot coolers.

Also the admins are just as frustrated and are doing everything they can. It’s not them it’s DGS

It’s always been dgs. We know this from yrs of watching it play out. I’d advise those who know the schools having issues to reach out to every politician who is up for re-election as they may help. Oh minus the mayor yeah she don’t care unless you a developer.

I work for the DC government. You have to get your council member and the Mayor’s Office on the case. DGS will sit on it indefinitely and no amount of (reasonable) complaining will move the needle until it becomes a political matter.

As a political and financial matter, how is this possible? I ask that seriously.
At the mayoral candidates forum last night, Bowser touted the (unbelievably high) per pupil spending in DCPS. Where is this money going if there is no AIR CONDITIONING for children?

You sound like a person who was like “Well I guess I gotta vote for Trump since Bernie wasn’t the nominee”. You were gonna vote for Bowser anyway - no matter what.
