Frumin has the most retail support in the Ward. Why on earth should he drop out? Think of the hundreds of families he worked with at Wilson, or the households he engaged in Tenleytown and Friendship Heigths as an ANC Commissioner and Chair. Look at the map of his support. It is ward wide, not solely focused in one neighborhood. https://dcgeekery.com/dc-campaign-finance/2022/council-ward-3 |
Who is the Republican running as a democrat? |
| Monte Monash looks promising as a candidate. |
Zero chance to win. I’m voting for Goulet. He’s the only one who is taking the soaring crime rate in ward 3 seriously |
Monash was registered as a Republican until a few weeks before joining the race. |
She went around at our school auction introducing herself to people as a candidate. Ixnay. |
And the rest of the Council - you know, those who he will need to actually do anything at all - are going to take him seriously knowing that he got there through using questions about how to increase diversity in the Ward to complain about crime committed by African American voucher recipients? Having a council-member prone to racist tropes hasn’t worked out too well for Ward 8. It wouldn’t work out too well for Ward 3 either. |
She was a Republican until five minutes ago and has donated to Mike Pence. |
Are her kids in DCPS/DCPCS? |
She donated to Mike Pence and was a republican until filing to run in this race. Hard Pass. https://washingtoncitypaper.com/article/555260/erstwhile-republican-monte-monash-wants-to-be-the-ward-3-councilmember/ |
This. If Goulet wins, expect him to be a total pariah on the Council and for Ward 3 to be treated like Pennsyltucky. |
Doesn't bother me. She might be the best candidate to help address the increasing crime in ward 3. About the only time I would consider a conservative-ish candidate is for the DC council. Plus, there's only so conservative once can be in DC and survive in politics here. |
No idea. She may have been there as a guest. |
