You are confusing elderly with unable. They aren’t the same thing. Elderly is simple a descriptor of how old one is. Old doesn’t mean bad and young doesn’t mean better.

1. All of the Golden Girls were retired, hence, the name Golden, as in Golden (retired) years. 35 is in no way middle age. I would say 45 to 60 is middle age.

This is a moving target. I would say elderly is 70 and over now. Middle-age is 50-70? Maybe. But there are 60 year olds today in much better share that 40 year olds in 1970. So does this term really mean anything?

Life expectancy is 76-78 years of age. Middle age begins in the late 30s. Early elderly is 65 - that is a medical clinical measure. Late elderly is 75+.

These are mathematical and medical science determinations, regardless of any delusional opinions some might hold.

To clarify, 76 is male life expectancy, 81 is female life expectancy.
