Gas stoves causing health issues?

NP. I have wondered about the sharp uptick in lung cancer in nonsmokers and gas stoves.

Gas ranges do not have pilot lights....

We have gas everything. Stove, fireplace, firepit, pool heater, outdoor grill. Not changing a thing.

Love my gas stove. Good enough for Dr. Biden then it’s good enough for me.

Some people here are really being ignorant. I am the OP of this thread actually. The scientific evidence around this is becoming very clear. No one is saying banning gas stoves, what they’re doing is identifying the issue and hopefully find ways to improve stove safety.

This is a seatbelts in cars type thing not a left/right thing. And this is government acting exactly as it spoils, taking a preponderance of evidence to look at a product and enact safety regulations/make recommendations based on emerging literature.

This took people by surprise but almost all the scientists in the initial study apparently ripped the gas stoves out of their homes. The results are much worse than anyone expected.

This should be a success story and lead to reduction of illness in future generations but instead it’s already political, really silly. No one is coming after anyone’s stove they’re looking at the broad picture.

There is a magnetic field that surrounds the earth.

I use a really good vent for my gas stove, and use my electric oven, slow cooker, etc. a lot in lieu of the stove top. So not especially worried.

I would be much more concerned about unmitigated radon in my house.

I also have concerns about a lot of exposure to fire pits and breathing in wood smoke... at the very least if you're going to be concerned about your gas oven start thinking about fire pits/bonfires/etc. too. Wood smoke has a lot of fine particulates and is not great for your lungs.

Yes, but do you cook in mask like Dr. Biden?

Yay! Redoing my kitchen soon and sounds like gas stoves will be on sale.

And cell phones cause brain cancer. They tell people not to sleep with them by their heads.
