What is your body like after 4 c-sections?

There's a doctor in Manhattan who specializes in repeat c sections. A black man. Hassidic people use him. His name escapes me

Are you her OB? What is this adding to the conversation?

And your comment adds what?

I’d like people to think before just talking. Your comment was rude. I’ve had five c-sections and don’t really need your opinion on it. Truly, she’s already had it and isn’t just considering another pregnancy. What was your comment supposed to do besides being judgmental? So adding my comment was hopefully to encourage people to think first.

DP. You are overly sensitive. It’s a fact that most doctors would not recommend 4, let alone FIVE, c sections.

That’s not what the post is about. If someone posts “should I have a fourth c-section?”, feel free to chime in. I’m not overly sensitive cause I don’t give an F what you think of the number of c-sections I have, I just think it’s tacky to post when it’s 1) irrelevant and 2) you have no idea of the OP’s medical history.

You’re the one who derailed the conversation with your hysterical posts. You just want everyone to think 5 c sections is a sensible medical decision.

You need to zip it and let people make medical decisions with their physician.

Pretty sure the poster didn’t stop anyone from making medical decisions with their physician. She merely stated standard medical opinion and no physician would advise 5 c-sections.

Hmm I’ll have to let my doctor know. I had five c-sections and was cleared for a sixth that I’m not having. So I’d disagree.

Isn’t there a list of “memorable” dcum posters? Someone please add “5 c sections lady.”

Stop making generalizations. The shaming of women around births is icky. Let people make their own decisions about their body whether you would have five c-sections or not…I mean DCUM already calls them breeders.

You know you posted articles about the general increased risk with each c section…. Right?
No one is shaming. You took one comment really personally and made it into a thing. Dcum is not the place to get support for a 5 child family. 5 children is not a decision to take lightly. 5 c sections is not a decision to take lightly. If you’re concerned about your fitness, it’s probably advisable to not have surgery 4+ times on the exact same spot.

I didn’t realize DCUM was only for the support of what you deem a correct family. Your post oozes nastiness. If you’re concerned about fitness, it’s probably best not to have children at all.

“Oozes nastiness?” I really don’t know where you’re getting this from. You seem really, really defensive about your c sections. You seem like you take it really personally that dcum is not supportive of 5-child families. I didn’t say I personally am not supportive of 5-child families. But I know the limitations of dcum. For example, I EBF my 3 children and basically do attachment parenting. I know dcum is not friendly to that stuff. I’m just saying, I think you took a fairly innocuous comment and spun it way out of proportion.

If that’s your experience with this board, I would expect you would be more open to different choices. I responded to a post of “no doctor would advise 5 c-sections” with the fact that mine did. There is no set limit on c-sections and you should take it one at a time and discuss it with your doctor. That’s what I would like women to know. Good night!

Op here; pretty baffled. Why would you care at all that I had four c-sections? My issue was that I was late to go into labor (and there is a family history of this — I was born at 43 weeks, another modern medical no-no that seemed to have turned out just fine!) When I was about to have my second baby, dr’s argument was that an induction would likely end in another failed labor in my case and an emergency c-section, which can get ugly fast. He said better to take control and plan it and I think he was right. I was willing to try the induction to protect my future pregnancies but I was told that was not necessary. Women should know their options. And remember, there are a lot of co-morbidity with c-sections that don’t impact many on privilege-ridden dcum. I am a healthy weight, highly educated, financially well off and able to talk with drs as an equal.

Dr. Clarel Antoine.

A gem. I knew I never wanted to attempt a vaginal birth (twins) and went to him for c-section expertise. I don't want more, but if I did I would trust him for 4, 5, 6 and beyond.

Anyone in the area have a doctor they’d recommend for a higher-order c-section?
