What is your body like after 4 c-sections?

And your comment adds what?

I’d like people to think before just talking. Your comment was rude. I’ve had five c-sections and don’t really need your opinion on it. Truly, she’s already had it and isn’t just considering another pregnancy. What was your comment supposed to do besides being judgmental? So adding my comment was hopefully to encourage people to think first.

DP. You are overly sensitive. It’s a fact that most doctors would not recommend 4, let alone FIVE, c sections.

This is true.

This…actually isn’t true. I moved and shopped around quite a bit for a new OB. All of them (5 doctors plus my prior doctor) said up to 4 is generally no problem unless there are complications. (And for reference, I’ve only had 1.)

That’s not what the post is about. If someone posts “should I have a fourth c-section?”, feel free to chime in. I’m not overly sensitive cause I don’t give an F what you think of the number of c-sections I have, I just think it’s tacky to post when it’s 1) irrelevant and 2) you have no idea of the OP’s medical history.

You’re the one who derailed the conversation with your hysterical posts. You just want everyone to think 5 c sections is a sensible medical decision.

You need to zip it and let people make medical decisions with their physician.

All the PP said was that 4 is behind recommendation. In almost all cases, it is! Is it slightly off topic? Sure. But you are super overreacting.

Pretty sure the poster didn’t stop anyone from making medical decisions with their physician. She merely stated standard medical opinion and no physician would advise 5 c-sections.

This study says 4+ c sections is not that different from 3 EXCEPT it greatly increases adhesions, which is what impairs lower abdominal function for women and can seriously affect your fitness and how you look.

So, turns out, PP was right, if we’re talking about looks, 4+ c sections is not recommended.

It is luck and some people heal better than others

Absolutely not true. She had some of her kids with chloroform usage, no c-sections. No doctor would do 9 c-sections.

Hmm I’ll have to let my doctor know. I had five c-sections and was cleared for a sixth that I’m not having. So I’d disagree.

Stop making generalizations. The shaming of women around births is icky. Let people make their own decisions about their body whether you would have five c-sections or not…I mean DCUM already calls them breeders.

Different people have different risk tolerances. My husband is a surgeon and was ok with it. If you actually sit down and look at the numbers which I did with my OB, being of advanced maternal age was a far bigger concern than it being a fifth c-section.

You know you posted articles about the general increased risk with each c section…. Right?
No one is shaming. You took one comment really personally and made it into a thing. Dcum is not the place to get support for a 5 child family. 5 children is not a decision to take lightly. 5 c sections is not a decision to take lightly. If you’re concerned about your fitness, it’s probably advisable to not have surgery 4+ times on the exact same spot.

I didn’t realize DCUM was only for the support of what you deem a correct family. Your post oozes nastiness. If you’re concerned about fitness, it’s probably best not to have children at all.

“Oozes nastiness?” I really don’t know where you’re getting this from. You seem really, really defensive about your c sections. You seem like you take it really personally that dcum is not supportive of 5-child families. I didn’t say I personally am not supportive of 5-child families. But I know the limitations of dcum. For example, I EBF my 3 children and basically do attachment parenting. I know dcum is not friendly to that stuff. I’m just saying, I think you took a fairly innocuous comment and spun it way out of proportion.
