They weren’t forced to sell it.

They pretty much were. It would have been a hostile takeover had they not agreed.

Good.

What a load of baloney that unfettered lies are the bedrock of democracy …

You don’t want people to hear the truth because then your illusions will be destroyed.

That you, Vlad?

PP. Oh, I didn't vote for Trump, just kept tabs on him through his tweets. And no, I don't think he should have been banned.

He is using public platform to spread toxic lies and propaganda. If you think there should be no regulation, you’re a fool.

Great. now Elon is going to end the regulation that kept out the republicans and let them spread their toxic views, publicly.

He is a horrible person!

The election “steal” isn’t a view, it’s lies and should not have a platform. The same way defense of naziism, for example, or anti-semitism or racism, for other examples, should not have a platform. If those are now the de facto views of the GOP then no, they should not have a platform. If their views are simply idiotic stances of matters open to interpretation like “anti masking is freedom,” that’s one thing but spreading lies is quite another. That the GOP has a home for both is their own nonsense.

Today is a dark, dark day thanks to Elon.

He is going to let people say whatever they want to say on Twitter now!

don't read it. make it even more irrelevant

Never been on twitter, but looking forward to it now.

As a shareholder, you had the opportunity to vote for the Board of Directors to represent your interests. That includes the decision to sell.

The meltdowns with the weirdos talking about how this threatens our democracy is the funniest part about all of this.

If it’s overrun by Trump, Russian bots, and the right, then I expect people will abandon Twitter and it will die like Truth social. Now is a great time for someone to create a new social networking app.

You think those with all with Asperger’s are incompetent and worthless? You have a problem with them?

I think what PP was saying is that people with Aspergers have difficulty reading social situations and relating to others, hence the irony that he wants to reform a *social* media platform.

That doesn’t answer the question. How does individual stockholders shares get bought back?

Seems like every social media platform created and overrun by liberals is successful. I’ll take Twitter in it’s current form over Truth Social.
