I don’t care if Musk makes his public company private but I do care that Twitter reigns in all the outrageous political lies on there before. They only recently got their act more together. I don’t trust brilliant but megalomaniac Musk to establish adequate safe guards for Twitter. Truth absolutely matters if free speech is supposed to serve higher socio-political goods. Free speech is the opposite of the bedrock of a functioning democracy when popular social media platforms act as unfettered megaphones for populist politicians not held accountable for telling the truth/ advocating race and ethnic based violence/ science misinformation/ hate speech. |

| I generally despise Twitter but I'm happy about this- took a small gamble and bought some after he announced his intention to purchase and now I'm up enough to have several nice meals, even more if the deal closes. Thanks, Elon! |
