Xcaret in Mexico. I am in paradise. I just wove baskets and yesterday we crushed cocoa beans, cinammon and pure vanilla and made chocolate. We trekked through jungles, explored underground rivers, caves and Mayan ruins. I don't want to come back today but I have to adult. Flying was easy and we used ihealth school tests and online proctor for our covid tests. So easy.

But, I've been here 6 days and this is the first time on DCUM

Which hotel and how do you like it (both the hotel and the island)?

I want to visit but I struggle with the lodging options, they all look outdated and dumpy, reviews of poor service.

We stayed at the Sundial resort. All units are privately owned, but if you book through the resort you get to use all the resort activities (bikes, kayaks, pool towels, beach chairs and umbrellas, pickleball) the resort pool has a small slide. The island itself is very beautiful, the beach has tons of seashells and the main roads have beautiful ftropical foliage and dedicated bike lanes. The resort is not fancy, but it's nice and very well managed.

I had the same issue when looking at lodging options, especially house/
Condo rentals. A lot of dumpy looking places for a lot of money. I was happy with Sundial, but if you want a more beautiful or bigger place look at Anna Maria Island, the houses there are new and a lot of options for tastefully decorated houses.

Really? We’re not from Nova, but went to Southern UT for spring break and it was mostly empty. Very few tourists except at a couple of the parks and certainly none from the DC area that we came across.
