Gadsden flag license plates - are there more these days?

Check out which states have the option for a vanity plate. Hopefully this relic will also be revoked in due time.

I don’t care what people think about it, one way or the other. Not my problem.

It is a political statement, like it or not. Now that you know that you are like intimidating poc, including friends, will you change it?

I am not a conservative and I think libertarians are dreadful human beings, but claiming that someone with a Gadsden flag license plate is willfully intimidating POC is stretch lmfao.

And if you are a POC intimidated by a Gadsden license plate, never fear. As stated upthread, that person is likely a 40yo libertarian living at home and doing jack shit all day. They'd have to stop smoking pot and watching anime all day in order to commit a hate crime.

Is a red truck a political statement?

Different poster but I'll answer your question. No, the truck is not a political statement. But if you drive a red pickup with a Gadsden flag license plate, you are definitely a republican.

DP. I think you are ignoring the way the Gadsden flag has been appropriated by people on the far right who are anything but libertarian. You don’t get to dictate how other people interpret the flag.

The modern Gadsden flag plates are for people who would consider, but are too afraid to just put a Trump sticker on their cars

+1

What a stupid comment.

Has anyone noticed the large number of these plates on cars driven by POCs?

Nor do you.

What can we do about this??

LOL. We can ignore the poster making wildly dramatic and inaccurate claims.

So...I didn't know what "Gadsden flag license plates" meant so I did a search. On the second link was this "...see this as a step in the White direction." Yikes.

This is a really good observation. I think I've seen a POC driving a car with a Gadsen license plate only a handful of times. 99.8% of the time it's a white person.

So yeah, there's definitely identity politics at play when it comes to the Gadsen license plate.

OP here….I’ve noticed many POC with the license plate and it’s part of the reason why I have found the apparent increase interesting. It always catches my eye and surprises me but why should it? Based on the responses, people (likely unfairly) associate the flag with racism. I just don’t buy it.

The flag (I think) represents freedom….ok so what’s so wrong about that? I get that it’s been used by far right wing people…but that doesn’t mean that everyone who has the license plate is racist. You can find bad actors for every symbol.

Do you also believe that the stars and bars represents heritage, so your flag isn't racist or that a swastika is a Hindu symbol so no-one should mind your tattoo?
