Good luck with demanding better. Unfortunately, UMC voters with children in DC public schools just aren't a large slice of the electoral pie in this particular city.
Hint: most of the parents in DCPS and DCPCS are low SES URMs. |
This is so stupid. Someone making a donation to their kid's school is zero threat to you. |
“ The alternative is that parents flee for private for VA/MD publics” Think you might have missed that threat the first time so clarifying for you
|
They should have a system so all donations are Anonymous to remove influence. At our school a parent's business sponsors an event (and thebusiness had the family name) with a big banner that is up year round. I find it uncomfortable and feel like he should get priority for talking to the principal (which he does a lot) |
Can you drop the word gross? It's puerile. You've been posting all over the board with it and if you use other words, you'll get your point across better. |
You should see what private schools do! |
Our admin never even sees the donations that come in. There are certain visible donations people can make, but the biggest/no strings attached/blank checks? Only three members of the PTO know who sent them. Donating tons of time is actually a better way to curry favor at our DCPS. |
| Ross ES PTA raises about $900 per kid. Some parents contribute much more. Others less. |
