I hadn't heard of him before either. I've learned he is on SNL and I've also learned he's from Staten Island. Oh and he looks homely and dirty.

Right. The people turning their nose up at him in this thread prolly have music lists full of songs they listen to on constant rotation that he has produced for other artists.

I’m not a Pete Davidson stan (and I think the stan is hilarious) although I think he’s cute and funny. I really hate the comments that he looks dirty. It’s really rude and borderline ableist. The only reason anyone says that is because the area around his eyes is dark, which he can’t help and is probably caused by his chron’s disease. Seriously, how does he look dirty?

IMO he's much more talented as a producer than a rapper. If you only follow R&B and hip hop that's played on the radio station you might not be able to really appreciate his production catalog but it's extensive. He made major contributions to hip hop in the 00s . I'm not personally a big fan of his but as a lover of hip hop, I can appreciate his influence and contributions. I'm the person above who questioned the person that said he's the best hip-hop producer. I forgot to say it in that post, but I might even consider Dr. Dre more influential than Kanye. It's fun to debate this topic with people who live and breathe hip hop. You have to look beyond the commercial radio hits these artists are known for and really dive into their catalogs.
