He really is a genius. People don’t realize how much he influenced contemporary music as a producer and collaborator. Jay Z and Common are big examples.

Sounds insane, but I’ve spent time with him. Kanye is a legitimate genius and not a typical person. He’s doesn’t understand social norms and I suspect he’s a bit on the spectrum in addition to being mentally ill. I don’t understand how Kim stayed married to him for so long but I suspect that they didn’t spend too much time together. He can’t stay in one place too long. I think she wanted her kids with one baby daddy and has now moved on.

There are people more interesting / talented and stable than he is. They just don't court public attention the way he does.

Regardless of his abilities his main focus appears to be marketing. And that's trashy.

I actually went to high school with Kanye. I'd say he's an extremely gifted artist, but genius may be a bridge too far.

Each day, I'd walk by a display case filled with student artwork on the way to class. One of his colored pencil drawings was there in front and I would just stare at it when I walked by. It was beautiful and beyond what I'd expect a high schooler to create. There were assemblies where he'd perform, but I mostly remember the physical art he created.

i saw him interviewed on Dave Letterman's special and I was surprised with how intelligent he is. but definitely appears to suffer with a mental illness. (I was also surprised by Kim Kardashian as well.)

Pete also has mental health issues and drug issues. Way to pick them, Kim!
