You're the ones trying to mislead people into thinking these are MCPS scores. The FACT is they're not. They are the state. |
Then where is MCPS's data? |
Ask the state |
Yes, I have kids in MCPS. One took Alg1 MCAP this past fall. Can you answer the question? Where is MCPS MCAP Alg data? |
But you said the state published state data, and to not interpret that as MCPS data. So where is MCPS data? Are you saying MCPS doesn't have the data? How do you know this? |
I am an MCPS parent. Your constant defense of MCPS' failures tell me that you are from the bloated central office, and need to be fired so that the budget goes more towards actually teaching children than someone posting on the forum defending MCPS. |
Umm, yes. This is the MCPS forum. You would expect to have MCPS parents. In this thread, specifically, you likely have parents of 8th graders who took Algebra last year and are concerned about the abysmal MCAP performance. |
So, is it always taken in 8th? I'm trying to figure out why my child hasn't taken it. Parents demanded less screen time and no homework and easier classes. They won. This is the consequence is that kids aren't getting what they need academically. |
Is it really that hard? MCAP is a state assessment not MCPS. The state publishes the data. Obviously you trolls and private schools parents have no ideas how things work |
And I am from Mars |
You might actually be from Mars if you think MCPS is serving our kid well. |
Obviously you are an MCPS apologist and are clueless about the state of education in MCPS: https://reportcard.msde.maryland.gov/DataDownloads/2021/2021/MCAPAdmin/2021_MCAP_MATH_Administrative_Data_Report_Card.xlsx MCPS Alg 1 Proficient 10.3 (Level 2 and 3) Level 1 89.7% -- the lowest level Level 2 7.9% Level 3 <= 5% 2018/19 data (my older DC) Proficient (Level 4 and 5 back then) -- 45% only 10% of kids were met the benchmark in Algebra, compared to 45% a few years ago, and you think there is no problem in MCPS right now? GTFO. Your a$$ should be fired. |
| Has anyone addressed the possibility of there being some kind of error in the test or the scoring of it? Even with the pandemic and reduced curriculum, I find it difficult to believe that 94% would fail to meet standards. Can we see the questions and answers? |
Even levels above Algebra have gaps solely from the point that MCPS reduced the curriculum content. The long term plan to fill in gaps was never planned for. MCPS still isn’t filling in gaps so I (like so many MCPS parents) have a private math tutor for my child. |
I doubt there is an error given that this is playing out across the country. VL sucked, period. |
