| DCPS doesn’t require masks outside anymore. I guess choosing a charter for the freedom isn’t all that. |

Your generalization is just ignorant. Our charter is dropping the outdoor mask. The more important question when the indoor mask will be dropped is what is your vax rate at your school. Do name the school and tell. |
DCB has not announced any changes to policy but also does not do test to stay (because kids are unmasked during nap and lunch). I am not sure it is worth looking for rationality at this point. |
Our charter does test to stay and PK is unmasked for nap and lunch. |
Which makes the outdoor rule even more nonsensical. |
Absolutely agree. |
Yeah. That was kind of my point. It is all nonsensical. |
What’s really nonsensical is OSSE. And trying to interpret their rules. |
I think they don’t want to call our unvaccinated kids, who would be those with masks on at recess…. |
but not during lunch and naps? See, you wouldn't need to call out the unvaccinated kids (and we're talking about most of PK3 and PK4 here, so it's not like there's going to be a huge number of vaccinated kids). OSSE could just say, "Oh you can do test-to-stay as long as you mask except for lunch, snacks, naps AND outdoor time." Just add a perfectly defensible clause. |
MCPS will likely drop all masking next week. And DCPS wouldn’t be riskier than your church because even an unvaccinated kid is lower risk than a vaccinated adult. |
Yeah MCPS has been sending out info to parents telling them how to prepare for unmasking, and they announced they’d likely drop the mandate on March 8. The point about your religious service is useless. Was everyone required to mask? No? Then it doesn’t matter. |
| Ours JUST dropped the health screening/remaining travel restriction. They made a vague mention of probably revising masking policies soon. I assume (hope) that will be dropping the outdoor masking. But some of our habitual worry wort parents on the list serve are pre-emptively freaking out about that. It's insanity. |
I have a feeling we're at the same school and it's exhausting. |
