| We left out 3 children in a hotel when they were 9, 11 and 12. Ordered pizza before we left and laid ground rules re: noise. |

Not the only ones. I would and have. |
You do realize that hotel master keys can override deadlocks? That’s my issue - just a general lack of security. |
What exactly do you think is going to happen in this unlikely scenario? An employee of the hotel with the master key will come and do what??? |
Kidnap their entirely average children I guess and set them to making buttons or something. |
And these employees would somehow magically know the exact 3 hours the parents would be gone to come kidnap the kids. |
Well thank god your kids have one responsible parent. |
+1 ASSUMING you can trust the kids. Temperament matters - particularly of the 13 year old but really all three. |
What city? Personally I wouldn't do it. What if someone comes to the door and tricks them? Just hire someone for piece of mind. |
Irresponsible and you were very lucky nothing happened to them. A 12-yr old should never be put in a situation of being in charge of two younger siblings. |
It's PEACE OF MIND! |
| Depends on the maturity level of the 13yo. I babysat starting 12. We also have a 14yo sitter in the neighborhood. |
| No, I have similar aged kids. It would turn into the two older kids fighting about what to watch and the youngest getting ignored. Or the youngest bugging them and more fighting. |
Sorry, but yes I do worry about assault and the lack of security in a hotel vs a home with alarm etc. You do you. |
