I'm here because I spent my lunch hour browsing Madewell, Everlane, Uniqlo online for something a little different from my Loft and Gap staples. Found nothing appealing. I often have great luck at TJMaxx.

OP - on your budget, look at J Crew Factory. The number of items for sale each season is fairly limited and it is easy to put together an outfit from the coordinated items. Similar to Target in price and quality. Watch for sales.

How odd you can't imagine why people would prefer to purchase used instead of new for a number of reasons-- better for the environment, wanting items not from the current season, better quality for the same price as J Crew Factory, etc. Nor do you seem to understand that pre-owned doesn't even have to mean ever worn at all. You don't have to find those reasons compelling, but I find it strange you can't even conceive of these reasons or of experiences other than yours.
