List of Governor Youngkin's 11 Executive Orders on Day One

They aren’t really sweeping changes though.

1) Mask mandates will remain. No school systems in northern Virginia are going to end theirs simply because he drops a mandate. Any student who comes to school maskless will be subject to discipline up to and including suspension.

2) CRT was never a thing. Easy to say something that wasn’t happening cannot happen. Schools will continue to seek ways to improve equity, and rightfully so. There isn’t anything he can do about it (or will do about it).

And so on. Lots of virtue signaling but no real meaningful change.

Y'all were hoodwinked - he's definitely Governor Trumpkin

The fleece vests worked as planned.

Operation Fleece ‘Em worked.

Operation Fleece ‘Em is hilarious 😂

If, as the allknowing MSM contended, Virginia schools weren't teaching critical race theory, and saying so was just a racist dogwhistle, who cares that GY just banned it being taught?

2 options:

- CRT does not exist in VA schools, so you have ZERO to complain about the EO, or

- CRT-like curricula (such as the divisive 1619 Project) are indeed taught, so you and McAuliffe were lying and dishonest this whole time, not to mention, you were trying to spread hate in our schools.

Pick one.

Picking the first option. I never heard of CRT until it blew up in the media. I'm still not even sure what it is. It has never been mentioned at schools I know about.

Signed,

Virginia teacher (Northern VA)

I think the EO's are a big nothing burger.

You were required to attend the “subconscious bias training,” along with all the other divisive, race-based indoctrination training, like equity training and inherent bias training.

Yet, you never connected that with CRT? You must not have been paying attention.

Here is a radical thought:

- how about academicians focus solely on academics, instead of political indoctrination?

Why do you assume all school districts have the same training?

And WTF is wrong with anti-bias training? It’s the most basic “how to be a decent human” training you can have. Every big corporation offers it.

Speaking of nothingburger

Unfortunately, some people are hellbent on not being decent people. Like Governor Trumpkin.

Sounds like he's doing a good job. I'm not a racist, or a Trump supporter, and I'm not a republican. However looking forward to the next couple of years.

DP but sounds good. I’ll focus from now on solely on teaching. No more wasting time responding to parent emails or meeting with parents about social issues students are having. Heck, if we’re only focusing on academics, might as well go virtual while case rates are up bc it’s not our job any more to focus on anything other than academics.

Just a radical thought

I voted McA because I didn't want to get rid of things like masks in schools during the biggest coronavirus wave - BUT I blame the D schools board that closed schools for a year for this whole mess. You can't close schools for a year and expect no political repurcussions - so here we are. My friends are angry but I am not sure why I should angry - what am I supposed to do about it?

WTF is a Chief Transformation Officer? Is that just an excuse to nominate one of his beer buddies for something?

I thought Miyares fired a bunch of people. The government became smaller.

He fired Herring's people and will replace them with his own. Happens every time a new party takes control. Government will not get smaller.

I read on this very board that he eliminated the entire civil rights division. Do you know what eliminated means?

It appears Miyares pulled back in his plan to clean house after it got media attention. Now he’s just “still considering.”

Are you talking about the new Chief Transformation Officer? Put on your reading glasses.

Except the part about the elimination of the civil rights division being who let false.

Putting your own team in place is normal. See many trumpers left down the road? New guy, new team. New normal.

But your virtual teaching is completely ineffective, so that’s a silly suggestion.
