Do you let your kid make up their own mind? I doubt there are many 8-year olds who are eager to go to church every week. I remember hating it, and I also distinctly remember not having any choice in the matter. None of my friends had any choice, either. |
There are also lots of adults who don’t talk to their parents anymore, that being a reason why. |
And there are a lot of adults who don't force their kids to go to church because they know from their own experience that forcing doesn't make kids religious. |
Or, as the Mormons say, “milk before meat.” If they’re proselytizing, they might be deliberately withholding the name so OP can’t google. |
Pretty sure 2x2s is commonly referred to as “the nameless church.” |
And they shouldn't say such things either. Two wrongs don't make either of you right. |
I think the problem for me would be that people who believe that women are not fully realized individuals with their own agency are in a sense condoning a form of slavery. I couldn't be friends with someone who wasn't fully on board with the idea that women are people. |

I don't associate anything on that list with Christianity (nor should you, OP). Many people copt the name "Jesus" for behaviors that are not aligned with His teaching.
Anyway, the parents are clearly control freaks with messed up values and ideas, so no, my kids would not be hanging out over there. |
