People with good taste! I don't see why everyone is so disgusted by it. Nobody balks at a runny fried egg.

My 10 minute eggs usually come out around that done. Perfect for me is slightly less without any pale yellow. That's what I mean by a custard texture.

+1

There's also way more health benefits from a less cooked yolk! I like mine pretty wet and oozy, just like I like my fried eggs. That's why they call it "yolk porn", because when it's runny it's so good 🤤

+1. The pictured egg is not bad, though slightly beyond my preference.

You people boiling the F out of your eggs until the yolk is dry and chalky are eating like poors.

If you are using a room temp egg / ice bath after boiling- this pic is a 7 - 7.5 min egg.

Lots of things aren’t necessary. Like you posting on this thread. Yet you still did it.

Ohhhh, poor baby can’t handle any criticism of her…kitchenware choices.

OP here. Look, I don’t care how you eat your eggs. If you like them chalky and dry, that’s fine. I don’t, but at least they won’t make gross deviled eggs. This PSA is for people who literally don’t know that ovecooking eggs is what causes them to be green and smelly (as I didn’t know for the first 20 years of my life! I just thought I hated hard boiled eggs because my parents cooked the crap out of them).

What if I told you that the Instant Pot does a whole lot more than cook perfect eggs. It has replaced our rice cooker. It makes great soups and stews. I can put a whole small pumpkin in - skin and all - and have the perfect cooked pumpkin for pumpkin pie. It works as a slow cooker. It makes yogurt. It has a saute feature that makes it easy to make a complete meal in one pan. And so much more. It's not putting any additional strain on our environment. If anything, it cuts down on cooling costs during the summer because I don't need to heat my entire kitchen to cook a meal. And it doesn't take up any more space than a crock pot or a rice cooker. In fact, it replaces both.

You got me. Having a hard time typing as I wipe away my tears…
Now move along and undercook your eggs in your earth friendly pot.

They still smell if stored. Eggs are inherently farty.

My 10 minute eggs usually come out around that done. Perfect for me is slightly less without any pale yellow. That's what I mean by a custard texture.

That's not hard boiled. That's medium boiled.

It's fine to prefer soft or medium boiled eggs. Just don't call them hard boiled, because they're not.
