I did! But the asshole started whining that it would kill his daughter who btw NEVER asks or plays with his stupid cat. She’s with us half the time per custody so I witness it with my own eyes. Ugh I hate dumb people. |
The only room is one of our bathrooms. But this cat is extremely sensitive and overly vocal and she would literally scream nonstop and it would make her even more skittish and nutty. I’m now terrified she will continue this behavior even after he leaves and after we clean up this nightmare and buy new furniture. I told my DH we need to rehome her. |
| Maybe the cat doesn’t like your design sense. I have a feeling that it’s pretty hideous. |
Adult stepson, house that costs millions, sounds like your the trophy. I think it's time for the dad to trade in for a new model. |
| I find the "designer house" comment as irritating as anyone but I have an elderly cat who's been less into using his litter box (he has arthritis, yes I have tried a flat box) and yeah, I'm done with cats after he dies. Cat pee is just the worst. Everything that comes out of a cat smells terrible and is hard to clean. |
I agree! I’ve been a cat owner my whole life but I will not except this behavior. Luckily this is the ONLY cat out of 8 I’ve had thru the years doing this. |
| I have had multiple cats, have never had this issue and wouldn’t tolerate this. The cat needs to stay in one room. Period. Once they move, you’ll be stuck with doing a deep clean and/or replacing things. Do your best to limit this to one area rather than your whole house. |

Ummm... at this point, I would suggest euthanizing the cat. |
In this scenario, the cat is not the one (or at least the only one) who needs medication. |
Something about the specific phrase “designer house” brings to mind a 1980s modern house. Lots of brass tubing, lots of glass panned furniture, lots of pastels and deep grey. But I also hate the smell of cats so I’m torn. |

I do animal rescue and I would NOT put up with that.
The strategies that come to my mind, Crate the cat, although that is unusual belly bands. They use these on dogs, don't know if they'd work for cats. |
| Are you 100% sure it was / is stepson’s cat and not one of yours? Could one of yours marked a spot without your notice before stepson arrived? Maybe your cats are feeling territorial around a guest cat? |
You assumed it was your stepson’s cat without verifying. You are wicked. His cat may not have marked anything at all. Nice job! |
No. Not unless she can definitively say that her cats weren’t culpable. |
