We are expecting only MIT and maybe UMass to be in before the RD deadline for everywhere else.

W&M for computer science? Really? |
| DC is going to Notre Dame for computer Science. Not known for CS but it is a good program at a great school that provides a outstanding support system (needed for this hard major). I agree with the earlier comments...I don't think it matters too much where the degree is from. |
NP. They offer a BS unlike most liberal arts schools that only offer a BA. USNWR has their undergraduate program ranked 71 tied with Clemson, Emory, Gtown, GW, Syracuse, UConn, Ill-Chic, Iowa, Rochester and UT Dallas. Similar ranking in Times Higher Education. According to the schools most recent CDS. About 4% of undergraduates are enrolled in the program. I'm not a booster! I've just done some research. |
I think it is actually a joint program with Columbia. That is the thing, you go to W&M for two years then transfer to Columbia. Two great schools, but it really disrupts your social life. |
What?! No. That is not correct. |
|
W and M for CS. I was the first to post it. I had just read that it was a small, supportive and high quality CS program. The 2 and 3 year thing might be for an engineering degree.
One data point I used to look at was to see how many CS professors each school had, as well as how many kids majored in CS. I was "doing my own research". I did this when assessing a more typical liberal arts school. I think it was Carlton that won big. |
Most people at Lehigh don’t pay full freight — what’s with all of the random Lehigh hate on this forum? |
Lehigh has a great ROI and actually has one of the highest average starting salaries. My econ major made $28/hr in her sophomore internship, and will be making $35/hr in her junior one. All of her friends are in similar positions, and the computer science majors she knows have six figure starting salaries. |
A friend’s kid is doing CS at W&M. Another is looking at the 2-3 program for the engineering program at W&M |
| There are a few SLACs that are doing these types of joint programs...(I think Haverford has 4-1 Engineering program with UPenn and there's a CS "track"...and there may also be a 3-2 program with CalTech)...but I think you can't apply until your sophomore or junior year.) |
| mine is applying to SLACs for CS |

That is for engineering. W&M offers a standalone BS in CS. |
Lehigh might be good on financial aid but does not offer much merit. |
