will Northern Virginia carry McAuliffe to victory?

The first thing out of his mouth: “Where is everybody?”

Uh oh.

Toting Obama along does not equal excitement. Instead of settling in one of his home states, he just moved down the street, and chimes in all the time. He is likely one of the puppet masters pulling the strings at the Biden White House. No big deal seeing Obama come out and sharing a helping of word salad.

Yes, Obama’s repeated message was “Don’t be tired”. Pretty lame.

I think it’s spot-on though.

I’m EXHAUSTED by the 2016 election + 4 nightmare years of Trump + reckless handling of pandemic + 2020 election + now attacks on schools/schools boards (what the heck?!).

Please let these a-holes take a break from spreading lies and trying to crap on everyone around them. It’s relentless.

That’s why it’s hard for me to be enthusiastic about any of this now.

What does that mean? Don’t stop fighting for even more of the far-left agenda that has already led so many to decide to cross party lines and vote for Youngkin? Fight harder for the politics that favor government-dictated equal outcomes over equality of opportunity? That elevates the 1619 Project over any other historical narratives and sees nothing good in the founding of America?

McAuliffe has no principles of his own, so he’ll just go along with this garbage and those who spew its hateful rhetoric. No thanks.

Stop making it a fight.

Stop believing these manufactured “issues”.

Stop projecting. The GOP is “spewing hateful rhetoric”.

This will be in the news all this week. Not good for McAuliffe and Virginia Democrat leadership.

Obama referred to the phony culture wars. Nova stays blue.

You think two students being raped (and the coverup by Superintendent/School Board) are “phony culture wars”? Sad. I hope you never have children.

So you want to exploit those sexual assaults for your own benefit - pushing your preferred gubernatorial candidate? Which has nothing to do with those crimes.

Disgusting.

I never said anything about who my preferred candidate is. I was just stating a fact that McAuliffe is going to be negatively impacted by having the Loudoun alleged rapist arrested this week. Obama used the phrase “phony culture war”, not me.

I don't think so. I'm the poster from RVA and everyone I know, including the registered republicans, are voting anti-Trump. We don't even care who's on the ballot.

Voters don’t register by party in Virginia.

Hello, tunnel vision mentality.

That’s the best you have? Just stating facts. Facts matter.

I know they’re making a big deal about it being a toss up but I do think McAuliffe will win …

That’s my best guess. I am D, but I also feel that if the Ds lose, they have no one to blame but themselves.

I think in the end McAuliffe will win by about four points. The demographic changes continue every year and make Virginia more and more D. But these short-term demo changes aren't picked up well in polls.

If you are so concerned about getting pregnant, have your tubes tied. If you are so concerned about impregnating a woman, have a vasectomy.

Or do you want to reduce social welfare costs of unnecessary people?

The remainder of Virginia is voting in huge numbers for Youngkin. Look at the rallies tonight in Richmond. Youngkin had more supporters in attendance than McAuliffe & Obama.

Incorrect. I'm in the RVA suburbs and very few are voting for this clown. My neighbor is a registered republican and has already voted for McAuliffe. All the old conservative people are selling their homes and moving to Florida and we're getting a deluge of democrats from NY, Boston, MD, and NoVA moving in; there are also lots of young professionals moving into exurbs because of the house prices and turning the old neighborhoods blue. I went to gawk at the rally but that doesn't mean I'm voting for the GOP.

I've got to tell you that I have become a lot more concerned in the last couple. Have driven through many parts of FFZ in the last week and been SHOCKED by the amount of Youngkin signs. I don't know enough about other cities in the state, but am really disappointed by Democrats. Youngkin is smart and is running a good campaign. They totally underestimated him.

I even saw a Youngkin sign in Arlington...... which obviously concerned me.

I will strongly echo everyone who says that this election will come down to margins just like 2016.

There are Youngkin yard signs all over Arlington. Most of the Terry sugns are in medians placed by volunteers.

Gosh, that hasn’t happened since 2016.

Driving around Nova to take my kids to games and I am impressed with the level of GOTV for Youngkin. Lots of parents (well couples) are knocking on doors and giving away Parents for Youngkin signs. I have not seen this level of enthusiasm for McAuliffe and McAuliffe needs to run up the score in Nova, Henrico, and the Hampton Roads corridor, but mainly Nova. I think that Youngkin has independents and is doing a good job peeling off moderate Dems who are upset with school boards and school districts (doesn’t matter if he can’t fix the problem- folks want to show they are dissatisfied and this is one of the few ways to do it - especially if the legislature reverts to GOP control. The two things McAuliffe has going for him is the economy (unemployment is 3.8% in Va) and that polls tend to underestimate Democratic turnout (although that was more so in the cycles when the state was getting bluer).

This. Thanks for royally screwing my child for a year+ of no school. It needs to be clear that that is unacceptable on every level. Go Youngkin go!!

Northern Virginia is going to disappoint Terry McAuliffe and the reason is schools. Period.

I'm a different poster from RVA. I live in Hanover which is deep red. Maybe the Youngkin fans here aren't concerned but my son and I did an informal sign count on Friday and we counted one more sign for McCauliffe than Younkin. Also the Youngkin signs seem to be on public land and not in people's yards. Saturday Youngkin held a campaign rally at Tom Leonard's farm stand for the second time. It's an upscale grocery store where no middle class shop. I guess Tom Leonard really doesn't welcome my buisness. Even the latest FOX poll has Terry winning by 5%. This is similar to the low polling Northam had in 2017 but he ended up winning by 9% https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2021/governor/va/virginia_governor_youngkin_vs_mcauliffe-7373.html
