OMG OP you're crazy.
new flash- your child is not perfect. "My kid is stronger and can give it a good strong kick that goes a quarter of the way down the field If no one is in the way." This really isn't the point or necessarily a great thing anyway. Two wrongs don't make a right. |
You sound like a terrible parent OP |
Don't ever yell at the kid from the sidelines again. This is an issue for the coach to deal with. Your DD is aware of the little girl's behavior so she needs to be more aggressive about keeping the other girl away, as soon as she gets the ball she should run down the field too. A good strong kick is too easy for the other team to intercept especially at that age. |
| Don’t 7yo play 4v4?? There is no “9”. |
Exactly. If you want the ball, go steal it back. |
| I think this is troll post, but it is pretty good. |
| OP, if this is upsetting you enough that you needed to start a thread on DCUM about it, maybe you need to step back from your kid’s rec soccer a bit. |
THEN HOW WOULD BETHESDA HAVE ANY COACHES?! |
Just like anything - some are better than others. |
Yeah folks, this is pretty much a troll. But all the advice I read was spot on. Good job community!!!! (for reals) |
| Don't give her orange slices at halftime until she stops |
| Actually, she's too young to be on the team. The reason she does that is because all seven-year-olds do that. When they're all on the same field together and all the same age you don't notice it because it's the bumblebee swarm. But when 9-year-olds have the ball they actually understand that you're supposed to share it and so she just sticks out like a sore thumb. She needs to be with an age-appropriate team or program. Kids are age should be playing three versus three on a little tiny field with little tiny goals |
| *kids her age |
I’m pretty sure this kid is on my kid’s team. There was a girl in a skirt at practice with some fancy thing in her hair. Not sure if this is her norm. I noticed only because I heard another kid say something about it to the coach. Kid didn’t look “little” but maybe skinny. In games I never noticed this kid stealing the ball. I’d say…she tries hard. |
You have no idea, honey. This happens all over the place until kids learn to trust their teammates. |
