Outdoor recess?

| Apparently some kids (those with appropriate outdoor clothing) had outdoor recess yesterday at my kids school. Is this the only school to do this? |

| I may be at the same school. On the days I think it is too cold for her to go out (which has only been 2-3 times this year), I "forget" to leave some of her outdoor gear. No gloves, no snowpants, etc. and they keep them indoors. |

| Our PS class went on a previously scheduled field trip which involved walking several blocks to Metro. Kids, unlike some DCUMs, do not suffer from an irrational fear of a little cold weather. I'm pretty sure that your kids would have been out playing in the snow if school had been cancelled. |

You should let the school know if you don't want her to go out. Some kids have borrowed gloves or hats from the lost and found box before. |

| I'd be thrilled if my kid got more outdoors time. Some parents have complained about going outside at 35 degrees. Maybe they grew up somewhere warm? At our school when it's very cold they keep the outside post of recess shorter than usual. I imagine everyone will be inside today. |

OP here, they played outside again today. And other schools didn't even open!
I'm glad my kid's school was open and there was outdoor recess. |
