When we bought our 1400 sq foot house it had been freshly painted in a very light gray. I'm a minimalist and like the color. Some rooms now need touchups, and I am wondering whether painting the rooms different colors will make the house look/feel smaller. Any thoughts? |
I'd keep them the same color or use use different shades of the same color. |
That would be visually unappealing. |
I think bedrooms and bathrooms deserve their own colors. Common spaces - hallways, living room, dining room, etc can have one color. |
Yes, it will look smaller if you make the rooms different colors. Keeping them all the same color will help the flow of the house. If you like then current color, then lucky you. Keep it that way. Do you know the correct color to get for the touch ups? |
I agree. We have a small house (3 bedroom ranch with finished basement). The open, common areas (living room, dining room and kitchen) are all one color (crown molding is white). All three bedrooms and the upstairs bathrooms are different colors. It gives the house some personality. I would hate it if every single room was the exact same color. Blah, boring...I love my colorful house. It makes me happy ![]() |
