Right. I'm okay with that. Just not okay with gaining weight for a procedure that probably won't even help me get pregnant. I'm 31 with unexplained fertility. |

| OP here. All of my test results were normal. Same with my husband. I ovulate every month. I'm considering just going straight to IVF as opposed to iui. I'm scared if I do iui it will just stress me out and wreak havoc on my life for nothing. The success rate is so low. Has anyone considered this? I realize it is more costly but we aren't concerned about the cost. |

| I'm in the minority, but I gained about two pounds going through a year of fertility treatments back-to-back and four pounds going through another six months. Most, if not all, of that was from activity restrictions, not the medications. |

PP, how old are you? I am in the same situation, all tests check out normal (slightly low vitamin D but that's it), the RE said that given the age there is less than 10% chance of success for each IUI round, so I am also thinking to go straight to IVF. |

| for what its worth, i would never recommend IUIs if you can go straight to IVF. IUI cycles were SO stressful. I did 5 or 6 of them (cant remember) and all failed. IVF was much better (though obviously more intense on your body) but you are monitored and taken care of so closely and have more accessibility and support from REs and nurses. just my take on it. IUIs were a waste of money and time for me. |

I am 3 negative IUIs PP. For my second child, I went straight to NC IVF. It worked on the first try. I wish that I'd done it for my first because it was the same number of appointments as IUI and no drugs except trigger. Odds are much, much better. FWIW, I was unexplained, but my AMH was very low for my age. Good luck. I found NC IVF to be very easy. |

| IMO, IUIs are for REs to offer something because people are scared of IVF. I have lots of friends with fertility trouble, and not one got pregnant from a clomid + trigger cycle of IUI. It's a huge emotional waste of time and resources. |

19:05 again. I agree. it was a totally awful experience. again, no support during the IUI process. Tons of support during IVF. |
