Travis and Taylor

Same reason I look askance at George Clooney.

But they... are not? I do think if they got married and had kids, many people who are now skeptical about their relationship would concede that it's "real." But they are not married, or engaged. They don't have kids. They are dating and many aspects of their dating relationship are weirdly commercial and public. Maybe that's just an outgrowth of these being very public people in performance-oriented fields. Or maybe it's a fake relationship designed to help Kelce break into acting/entertainment while expanding Swift's already huge audience and market strength by aligning her with the NFL.

Only time will tell. I personally think it's as crazy to assume they are truly and really in love, as it is to assume it's a fake relationship set up by a PR team. We actually have no idea either way.

Sometimes the sounds of hooves is actually a horse.

Taylor Swift doesn't need "expanding" of anything. Literally no expansion needed. You almost can't be bigger. She has zero incentive to do anything that will create "more" for her. Especially this route. She's a business woman who manages a billion dollar business basically. This is nothing for her in the greater scheme of it. Any audience she got from football is peanuts. She got more criticism than anything positive from football. She holds all the power here, and she's just not getting anything close to a return on investment to merit this being a fake relationship.

I'm a fan of his, and certainly he has his eye on retirement in the next few years, and yes, he might benefit from this. But watching them, I just feel like you can't fake it. They both seem to genuinely light up around each other. He's a bit cringey at times (not the sharpest knife in the drawer for sure) but they seem genuinely happy.

I think your view on this might depend on how cynical you are generally about celebrity relationships. I personally think many of them are either PR creations or heavily influenced by PR concerns. So to me, the "horse" indicated by the sound of hooves might be the this is a relationship based largely on publicity motives that worked out well timing-wise for all involved. That's not a zebra to me -- it's just the way this stuff often works. With people like Swift, the personal is professional. The lines are often blurry, so it's not that weird to select a boyfriend based on what is going to make you the most money.

Also I happen to disagree that Swift doesn't benefit from exposure via the NFL. To me it's actually a brilliant pivot because yes, she was the hottest thing going in terms of pop music, especially with the target demo of women ages 18-35. But Swift actually has fairly limited fandom outside that demo. Some with older women, as well as with parents of her younger fans. But definitely room to grow. The NFL angle absolutely got her top of mind for new demographics. And the benefits for Kelce and the NFL are obvious -- Kelce is like 100x more famous now than he would have been without Swift. The NFL has obviously enjoyed the association via higher ratings, increased merchandising sales, and significantly higher interest in their product from demos that were previously indifferent. It's absolutely a win-win-win.

Maybe there's some real affection there, but it's hard to believe the PR benefits are simply incidental here.

They are both tall, somewhat cringey, hard working, goofy, among the very best at what they do, come from 'normal' rust belt families with divorced parents who remained close, each have one sibling, both like attention, are big characters, support their friends/framily and vice versa, and are fun-loving, and so on.

I know that often opposites attract but in this case I think there are few people who can relate to each other on such similar levels, so it works amazingly well. Like coming 'home'.

Taylor is not TK’s “type.”

The football season is over and TK is still doing the bare minimum. Taylor run.

No distractions? Her new album is dropping!

DP but indeed! I wonder which track we'll get to hear first, "Fresh Out the Slammer", maybe?
"But Daddy I Love Him"?
Album for the ages coming up

Yep, flying half way around the world twice in a few weeks sure sounds like bare minimum to me…

And I’m sure you’re more than qualified to know his type.

There are some cute pictures posted on X of them walking around a mall together in Singapore. Sweet to see them doing such everyday things they would never be able to do here.

Its funny because everything mentioned here is the same as Matty Healy's background, only he & Taylor also had music and creativity in common (and he is from the North of England). I think this was all a reaction on Taylor's part to that ending.

He flew there because it was on her dime. And it looked bad that Barry Keoghan was in Singapore supporting his girlfriend yet Travis was nowhere in sight. You see Travis couldn’t travel alone and had to bring his whole crew. Taylor is just TK’s sugar mama.

As for type, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what type of woman Travis is attracted to.

PPs bring up a good point; why is he unable to travel without his buddies? Wouldn’t he be eager to spend time alone with his GF? It is a little odd - he’s a grown man.

Maybe his friends WANT to go? Like I do but couldn't and like millions of other people.

She came to every one of his games with an entourage as well. Doesn’t mean they didn’t have time alone afterward. There are pictures of them alone out somewhere in Singapore yesterday.

She ran all right. Straight into his arms right from the stage.

Another photo op to satiate the rabid Swifties.

This guy can’t win. On the one hand people complain of the carbon emissions for one person flying that long a distance. So a group goes along and the complaint is “he can’t travel alone.” Just because a group traveled along doesn’t mean they are spending every minute they are there together. I am sure he and Taylor are spending plenty of time alone. They were spotted out alone yesterday.
