If that statement were true why isn't it posted anywhere. What is the source? Michiganyouthsoccer.org has the US youth soccer, us club soccer, AYSO statement on their site.

Western Suburban Soccer League posted about it on their facebook page.

So the stupidest possible outcome... non committal delay. What ECNL does now will be even more interesting.

They should just go.... Unless they were provided with acutal reasons why it doesnt make sense.

There will be clarity and guidance in December. Still think there will be the option of a slow rollout for the smaller leagues (USYS/NPL/Etc.) and the bigger leagues (ECNL/GA/MLS) can implement by 25/26.

There is no reason why ECNL can not start in 25/26. They already said they could do it alone. After US Soccer removes the mandate, I think ECNL will start immediately. It's too bad other leagues will wait one more year. A lot of Q3/Q4 players will transit to ECNL, RL, and pre-ECNL teams.

People will vote with their checkbooks. If ECNL is the only league doing SY and increasing its player pool, it is the best evidence that SY is better for increasing the soccer population.

In brief, US Soccer’s Board of Directors decided not to make any changes for the coming seasonal year (Fall 25/ Spring 26). However, a potential change to School Year Registration (August 1-July 31) will be revisited by US Soccer, and may be in place for the (Fall 26/Spring 27) seasonal year.

As part of an ecosystem review, US Soccer is mindful that player registration is important, and they need time to assess all options. By the end of this year, US Soccer plans to solidify timelines associated with player development initiatives (PDI’s) and with the development of best practices.

We will continue to keep you informed on any information we receive from US Soccer and/or decisions reached by US Soccer.”

To all the ECNL parents that were beyond excited to play down for wins.

Haha.. Welcome to US Soccer

It is for the rec soccer. ECNL already said they could do it alone. Let's wait and see.
