ECNL moving to school year not calendar

Anonymous
“ MSYSA has received confirmation that there will be NO CHANGE from Birth Year Registration (January 1-December 1) to School Year Registration (August 1-July 31) for the coming seasonal year (Fall 25/Spring 26). In brief, US Soccer’s Board of Directors decided not to make any changes for the coming seasonal year (Fall 25/ Spring 26). However, a potential change to School Year Registration (August 1-July 31) will be revisited by US Soccer, and may be in place for the (Fall 26/Spring 27) seasonal year.

As part of an ecosystem review, US Soccer is mindful that player registration is important, and they need time to assess all options. By the end of this year, US Soccer plans to solidify timelines associated with player development initiatives (PDI’s) and with the development of best practices.

We will continue to keep you informed on any information we receive from US Soccer and/or decisions reached by US Soccer.”

FACTS:
- US Soccer discussed the age mandate at the Nov. 22 meeting based on feedback from the leagues and their survey.

NOT FACTS:
- Everything else everyone in here is talking about related to the specifics of what was discussed.

We won't know anything until the end of December.

Talk soccer is up to about 340. Think we can close the gap. Feel like our page is a Q4 player. Let's go and outwork them!

lol. Because Michigan AYSO is exactly where we expect the official announcement to be released. No offense but c'mon ppl. Look at all this insanity. When there is something to know, we'll all know it at the same time. Just chill. ECNL hasn't been unclear about what's coming so you can either look into the chicken bones or you can just listen to the podcast. Change is coming. Details are on the way. Lower level leagues will probably screw up the rollout and try to satisfy everyone. In the process making everyone crazy. We know how this goes...

You forgot to include 'we won't know anything until December' in your NOT FACTS section. Or are you also in the Michigan inner circle of knowledge? lol. Even the sane are losing their minds. This is awesome.

Nobody should be worried but wow, some of those stats are damning. ECNL teams with 1-2 Q4 players. Nobody's worried but lots of Q4 parents out there are hoping, that's for sure.

Likely there is nothing to report as nothing is changing? All the hype on here is what suggested there was a big decision and change coming…but clearly not the case.

Or the goal posts have moved because everyone wants immediate answers. The narrative has always been announcement by the end of the year.

Doesn’t seem like this is a change that is receiving much support.

Trust me, there a lots of parents Q-1 and 2, wondering what that means for their kid. Since, other players are coming down, likely some will stay out.

If that statement were true why isn't it posted anywhere. What is the source? Michiganyouthsoccer.org has the US youth soccer, us club soccer, AYSO statement on their site.
