French leader declares “war” on radical Islam after attacks

PARIS — Prime Minister Manuel Valls declared Saturday that France was at “war” with radical Islam after three days of bloody attacks around Paris that sparked fears of a tide of violence by militants living in Europe.

I don't see how saying this actually helps find bad guys. Did he just declare war on Iran? Wahabbis?
Of course not. We declare war on the muslim groups which are supporting terrorism. And only those groups. So when you get down to it, this is just fodder for frustrated conservatives. It does nothing to help identify or prioritize targets. Hope it makes you feel good tho. |

The statement is mere rhetoric - it means nothing from a practical standpoint.
The US has been waging a war against terror for the past two decades and we have actually gone to war in Afghanistan and Iraq ostensibly with this goal in mind. What is France going to do that the US has not already done? There are over 1.5 billion Muslims around the world. If just one percent were radicalized it would mean that we are dealing with 15 million potential radicalized Muslims. The attack in Paris - if reports are to be believed - has provided motivation for other radicalized Muslims to join jihad against their perceived enemies. I don't know what the answer is but I think we are in for a long drawn out fight that could last decades. |

The newspaper today had multiple.examples of all the lectures Obama has given at different places (un) waggling his finger at those that dare impugn the prophet. He needs to stop that and start defending freedom as the leader of America thats why we elected him |

Isn't he a little.out of his purview? How bout he call out the people who flog bloggers or shoot up grocery stores. Catching Osama was a matter of time.it was a risky operation but it wasn't a political risk as a.leftist to go after him. Even leftists could agree Osama had to go.
