Isn't he a little.out of his purview? How bout he call out the people who flog bloggers or shoot up grocery stores. Catching Osama was a matter of time.it was a risky operation but it wasn't a political risk as a.leftist to go after him. Even leftists could agree Osama had to go. Now how bout he focus on getting the doctor who helped out of prison instead of opening the back door at gitmo? The irony.

Yes, its a war. Glad the French are waking up. Our turn.

Someone is manipulating you. Stop being a sucker.

The future must not belong to those who target Coptic Christians in Egypt – it must be claimed by those in Tahrir Square who chanted "Muslims, Christians, we are one." The future must not belong to those who bully women – it must be shaped by girls who go to school, and those who stand for a world where our daughters can live their dreams just like our sons. The future must not belong to those corrupt few who steal a country's resources – it must be won by the students and entrepreneurs; workers and business owners who seek a broader prosperity for all people. Those are the men and women that America stands with; theirs is the vision we will support.

The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam. Yet to be credible, those who condemn that slander must also condemn the hate we see when the image of Jesus Christ is desecrated, churches are destroyed, or the Holocaust is denied. Let us condemn incitement against Sufi Muslims, and Shiite pilgrims. It is time to heed the words of Gandhi: "Intolerance is itself a form of violence and an obstacle to the growth of a true democratic spirit." Together, we must work towards a world where we are strengthened by our differences, and not defined by them. That is what America embodies, and that is the vision we will support.

Obama just didn't finish it. His actions contributed greatly to the instability. And to.lecture on how people.should speak about 'the propeht'? Get a life.

How often has Obama come out to defend the prophet and how often the slander of Christ? These were targeted words to a targeted audience and his position is western apologism.

His actions didn't contribute greatly to squat. Iraq had a decade to figure out how to take responsibility for its own defense.

I'm sorry but I cannot recall any Muslims mocking Jesus Christ. Can someone please send me a list of examples? All I can think of is atheists like George Carlin.

How about u can't own a bible in Saudi Arabia? That doesn't seem to denigrate Jesus Christ to you? Death penalty for leafing through the new testament? Get a life.

You are straying pretty far off topic. So I guess you did not find Muslims mocking Jesus.

Btw you can own a bible. They don't want people importing bibles to convert Muslims to Christianity. Not that it is acceptable, but the fact is that there are Christians practicing others, and they aren't unde threat of death penalty.

They picked on the wrong country this time. France gets little notice, but they are a large powerful nation which has fought many bloody wars. France marches to the beat of its own drum. France will punish al Qaida in Yemen like no other western nation.

^^A far cry from the usual blather about the French being unwilling and unable to fight that is bandied around especially when the US is at odds with France on foreign policy.

But despite your optimistic scenario, the French are as powerless as the the Americans in dealing with Muslim extremists. One is not fighting a country but a movement that takes shelter in many different countries.

Since Bush's declaration of a war on terror Al Qaeda's leadership has been decimated but many offshoots - some even more brutal than Al Qaeda - have been spawned despite the concerted attempt by the US with all of its resources to eradicate the extremists.

What makes you think that a relatively inconsequential military power like France will be able to achieve what the US has not been able to accomplish to date?

There is nothing inconsequential about France as a military power. They may not be a super-power, but they have virtually every weapon possessed in the US arsenal. They are not members of NATO and will not play by the same rules. This was their 9/11 and they are mobilizing for war. They will invade Yemen and not leave until every al qaida operative in the country is dead.
