Home daycare vs center? Just looking for ball park figures thanks!
|
| Where are you looking? Location makes a difference. |
| We pay $3900 (you read that right) for a 13mo and 3yr old. |
sorry, posted before I was finished. Center in Bethesda. Little one has 3 teachers for 6 kids, hence the expense. |
That is in the range for the federal daycares in downtown DC, too. |
| We pay $3k for a 5 month old and a 2.5 year old in a center in Alexandria. |
OP here, looking in MD, not downtown DC. Sorry should have said that! |
| $2300 per month in DC for a toddler. |
| I pay 225/week at a home daycare in Silver Spring for one kid, but will soon be adding another. I'm paying that for a toddler--that was the infant rate, and it goes down to 200 for a toddler but I'm so happy with the care that I'm not reducing what I pay. |
| We are in an in-home daycare in Wheaton, and I pay $605 a week for one toddler and one infant. 6 kids, 2 adults. |
| In Alexandria, $2415/month total for a preschooler & an infant at a center, including the 10% sibling discount. |
| I pay $1,700 for one toddler and one infant in Hyattsville, a non-profit center - right on the DC/MD border ($1,000/mo for the 4 month old and $700 for the 3 year old) The ratio in the infant room is 6 infants, 2 care-givers, with a 3rd "floater" care giver available if needed. |
Is this Heritage? St. Ann's? What do you like about it for the 3 year old in particular? Any drawbacks? How much outside time do they get? We live nearby and are thinking about switching from our nannyshare to a center for our 3 year old. Thanks! |
| At a center you're looking at $3000 per month for full-day 5 days a week care, including the additional sibling discount. Home daycare prices vary but will probably be $2500 per month. |
| $385/wk each for a toddler and infant. Comes to $3k per month. In home daycare in falls church |
