| Another thread said 8 or 9 made blue from Pride. |
| I’m not overly familiar with either Stars or Pride. Setting aside what seems to be a major rivalry between you two, can someone tell me how Stars is predicted to do next year now knowing who is leaving the team? I see historically they drop significantly in the rankings in 9th grade. But sounds like the Capital selections have people somewhat baffled, so wondering if Stars could still be competitive their freshman year? |
I'm sure they'll clear it all up at the initial post-acceptance meeting. |
They absolutely can be. Plus, they got the top of Pride's Loudoun group out at tryouts. We'll see if the scales tip from the titans in the 28s. |
Wow. That hits every book's over. |
| 11 Pride made Blue |
This post was right on the nose for the clubs named. |
Any more context? Or just sour? 1/3 guy was wrong apparently. |

I'll give you the run down: Capital decimated Pride Red, picked up majority of the girls, sprinkled in a few Stars and 3-4 others. Pride was already top 10, now with the new goalie and most of the other pickups, they'll be highly competitive. The Orange team, however, are full of a few remaining pride girls and a number of SSSA girls (who you could argue ONLY made the team due to attending SSSA). There were a number of more talented girls who did not get offers.
I would say the Blue team will be fine, the Orange won't break top 80. Someone a long time ago asked what you needed to do in advance of Capital tryouts to put you on the short list. The answer is clear 1) Play for Pride (Katie...or whoever runs the program now) can't retain talent once they hit HS and 2) attend SSSA where Kathy Jenkins throws her weight around and gets her sub-par SSSA girls offers. |
Seriously. I would take the other side of that bet. Looks like a pretty athletic and dynamic group. |
Not sure what this means. I was referring to how soon people were trying to crap all over the Blue team. I agree they are good. Just thought the criticism would’ve waited a day or two. |
If true, why would anyone at this level want their daughter to play on a team that has sub-par players who did not earn their way on the team? |
I guess you are happy then. |
Right, I thought I was agreeing with you... Sometimes you have to hit the previous quotes thing to fully track the conversation. I also believe there are good, and agree that the criticism was not just erroneous, but early. |
