So sad. Saw in WaPo that a 15 yr old died and they requested donations for suicide prevention. The poor parents. Hug your teen tonight.
I took my 2-year old on a short walk today and that included going to the pedestrian bridge over 495. That is where it happened and there was quite a memorial set up. My child was excitedly waving at trucks going by while I was awkwardly fighting back tears.
That's awful. How sad.

Very sad indeed. My DC was in a class with the child.
Just saw this. Terribly sad. As the parent of a tween and someone who has worked in the mental health field, suicide is something I worry about. It breaks my heart that this beautiful child felt suicide was the only answer. I hope the community will rally around his family. May his memory be a blessing.

Ahh that explains al the signs I saw on that bridge when driving under it today. I thought someone was trying to bring back Surrender Dorothy. Sad to hear. |
So sad.
Teenagers have so many stressors and pressures that giving them outlets and a toolbox on how to healthy deal with stress is greatly needed. Losing one child in our community is one child too many. So sorry for the family.
Ver sad. Link to the Washington post article.
I thought the same thing when I read the obit. . This poor young man left quite an online trail regarding his struggles. As a parent, it frightens the heck out of me. I'm praying for his family and hope he is at peace.

Can someone post some links? For some reason I can't find anything.
