Best board games for elementary-age kids?

Anonymous
I am purging the toys today after the huge Christmas haul. But I'd like to keep/buy some good board games for this age group. I know the classics - Monopoly, Life, Trouble, Sorry. We have chess, dominoes, checkers too. What else am I missing???

no idea but I heard a great program on Kojo with the owner of Labyrinth Games on Cap. Hill who had great suggestions if you are heading out on a shopping trip.

Thanks - keep them coming. I love the idea of newer board games and have a few from Haba which are great. We also have Headbanz - forgot about that one.

Rack-o is a fun old game. We played it a ton at my parents house this past week. And I second the recommendation to check out Capitol Hill's Labyrinth. The store owner always has lots of great suggestions.
