We also love ticket to ride, starting at about age 8 in our house. Chess is also a favorite, and can be enjoyed starting around age 5.
Card games, too. Do you have an elderly neighbor that your kids can learn "old fashioned" card games from? |

just got Pentago for my 10 year old. really like it.
we play scrabble a lot. scattergories too. |
