My child's teacher using drugs

Anonymous
Several mornings while dropping my child off to school I noticed the scent of marijuana on the teacher. Recently received a forwarded link from another parent of the teacher having posted pictures of marijuana and paraphernalia on her social media. I am so uncomfortable with this. Considering reporting her. I want to do it anonymously but also want my concerns taken seriously.

Of course you have to do something

Are you in the District? If so there is a possibility of medical marijuana. Even so, someone in administration should speak to her about taking steps to make usage less obvious and definitely no social media pics.

Nothing should be posted online. Voice your concerns

At least she's probably pretty calm on the classroom. Is there any indication that your child's teacher is neglectful or incompetent?

I'd be most concerned that the teacher was stupid enough to post that shit on social media.

+1

I'm not a total prude about pot, but it shows a lack of overall judgment. Also, even if pot is legal in the area, many workplaces still have policies against it and still require drug testing. Report the teacher.

So would I.

Did you have any concerns with her as a teacher before you were aware of this?

As a teacher I am more concerned about this teacher's lack of judgement and what that means generally. If he is that cavalier to post this kind of stuff, what type of judgement is he using in his job?

Lack of judgement is huge. Posting that that sort of thing to start with, and either not having their account locked down, or having parents of current students able to see it.

Not smart at all.

This is your kid. Stop pussy footing around this. Report it to the principal with the screen shots and with your observations. Sorry, but doing it anonymously won't work if you want this taken seriously.

MJ is legal in DC. Grow up.

what's the big deal, seriously? is he high at work? if not, is it really a problem? plus it's legal. not much you can do, nor is it a big deal.

- parent and teacher who does not smoke pot

plus, the random drug testing might catch up with him

I bet 90% of your kids teachers smoke pot. Posting about it is stupid!
