We are relatively new to the DC area. Went to Great Wolf last year and was looking into another weekend trip. I was already looking into Masanutten but wasn't clear on where to book lodging. The place looks great as it has both skiiing, tubing and the indoor waterpark.
I was at the mall doing last minute xmas shopping this week and I paid $99 for a 2 night timeshare preview. I can't help but feel like I paid $99 for marketing. At the end of the day, the cost is great. |
| If you can sit through the mandatory presentation and not hurl away money on a crappy timeshare, then it is an excellent deal! |
The guy told me I could sit through it alone without my husband and kids. I hope this is accurate. We have sat through this pitch twice before and DH had to join for both. I really don't want to drag our 3 and 5 yo for this. Maybe the 3yo would make the presentation shorter as he will surely start whining if he did come. |
| You already own two timeshares? |
I think she meant her husband had to join her in the presentation, not join in ownership of the timeshare. |
| Sounds like a good deal to me. How did you get it? |
Correct. We have sat through two painful timeshare presentations together. I must admit the Atlantis one was somewhat tempting. We were stuck there for over 3 hours. |
They have booths at the malls. I have walked by so many times. I stopped this week because I was looking into weekend getaways and was already researching Massanutten. They charge you $99 and you get a 1 bedroom condo for 2 nights. You have to sit through the timeshare presentation though. You also get a $100 VISA gift card so the stay should technically be free. |

They claim 90 min but it will be 3 hours. 5 hey guilt you by saying we gave you 2 nights for 99 bucks the least you could do is buy from us. They take "no" personally as if you were breaking up with them.
Other than that, get the condo and not the hotel. |
| Omg my friend did that and they trapped them for HOURS! Make sure you hold them to the time promised |
|
When you go to the presentation do not bring your wallet, or purse, or your checkbook.
Do bring your whiny kid if necessary. |
child abuse to force a child into one of these presentations? |
| Yep. Done that one. 3-5 hrs and they make the spouse attend. We had a one yr old and that didn't even get one of us out of it. |

This is the living embodiment of the phrase, "You made your bed, now sleep in it."
We're returning to Great Wolf Lodge. |
