You’re so tired that you missed 2018.

2018 didn't change anything. I care about 2020.

I don’t give a hoot whether they are a D or an R, if they did the crime—-lock them up! Including President Cheetoh. No excuses for any of them. They took an oath. They’re supposed to be leaders. If they failed then convict them. Party loyalty be damned. Period. Full stop

Elections and politicians matter at every level. It’s in the title of the thread, FFS. Pay more attention.

And I can’t think how bad the GOP wohld be acting if we hadn’t won in 2018. They’re already acting pretty shamelessly.

“A powerful, long-serving Republican congressman blocked a federal crackdown on predatory lenders targeting military members while his wife was working for a firm that lobbied for one of the nation’s top lender trade associations, according to financial disclosures.

Rep. Mac Thornberry of Texas was chairman of the House Armed Services Committee when he pushed to delay new restrictions under the Military Lending Act that sought to protect military service members from predatory lending practices. A study conducted by the Department of Defense found that 11% of military members had been subjected to predatory loans, leading to personnel discharges at a cost to the department of $14 million a year.”

Thornberry is retiring, but look who’s running for his seat - Dr. Ronny “Candy Man” Jackson, who was accused of creating a hostile work environment, excessively drinking on the job, and improperly dispensing medication by current and former members of the White House medical staff.

Mike Huckabee filed a formal bar complaint in Florida against an attorney over a dumb twitter spat. One of the attorney’s “crimes”? Uhlfelder retweeted a tweet that showed Huckabee in a photo with Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman, Rudy Giuliani associates facing criminal violations of campaign finance laws.

I couldn’t agree more. If Clinton did something wrong, investigate and prosecute if need be. Same with Obama. Same with Biden. Same with Trump. I don’t understand this partisan blind loyalty.

A Republican running to unseat Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) after his unsuccessful bid against the congresswoman last year was arrested in San Francisco over the weekend.

A spokesperson for the San Francisco Police Department told The Hill that Omar Navarro, 30, was arrested early Sunday on charges of extortion, criminal threats, stalking and violation of a restraining order.

That explains a few things about the lack of functionality in this wastrel White House.

I read some astonishing statistic somewhere that something like more than 40% of House Republicans are either retiring or will have left before the next election, whether because they quit or were indicted.

I saw that, too. I think it’s 40% of the GOP House members that were sworn in in January 2017 are gone. Many of them were voted out and more of them retired.

“The mayor of Hoschton, a nearly all-white community 50 miles northeast of Atlanta, allegedly withheld a job candidate from consideration for city administrator because he was black, an AJC investigation has found.

According to documents obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and interviews with city officials, Mayor Theresa Kenerly told a member of the City Council she pulled the resume of Keith Henry from a packet of four finalists “because he is black, and the city isn’t ready for this.”

While [town councilman Jim] Cleveland said it was not an issue in his decision on whom to hire, he did share his beliefs about race.

“I’m a Christian and my Christian beliefs are you don’t do interracial marriage. That’s the way I was brought up and that’s the way I believe,” he said. “I have black friends, I hired black people. But when it comes to all this stuff you see on TV, when you see blacks and whites together, it makes my blood boil because that’s just not the way a Christian is supposed to live.”

The Jackson County Board of Elections took the rare step of calling for a recall election next month. For both of them.

“On Thursday morning, after a grand jury in Limestone County handed down a three-count indictment, the state’s attorney general’s office and the FBI arrested District Judge Douglas Patterson for allegedly taking $47,800 from an elderly veteran and $47,000 from the county’s Juvenile Court Services Fund.

He is charged with using his official position or office for public gain, financially exploiting the elderly and theft.”
