The school board currently DOESN'T work, so it's not like that's much of a handicap.

But you're right: new people can't change everything in the first 2 weeks, so we may as well change nothing.

After the utter sh*tshow, clusterf*ck, absolute clown circus that was redistricting, I'm voting out every single incumbent except for Nolan.

That school board member is no different from the others. All of the incumbents need to go, NOW, including the District B buddy-block who are all in lock-step.

They will just be replaced with a bunch of others who really have no actual ideas to implement that will improve anything. All of those running are just basically tossing out super generic slogans. One guy has some ill fated idea about free pre-k being the answer. It’s not. The gains from pre-k are gone long before a kid even takes their first SOL.

Please post a link to studies showing free pre-k is not worth the investment.

Can we fix what we have first before adding in new (free!) programs?

Ah the equity issue between GW and Hammond. Nice.

Good point! Student performance is not linked whatsoever to prior educational experiences and what they learn from 0-5. Rather than make sure kids are all getting quality early learning whatever their situation, we should instead spend millions of dollars on specialists to catch up and attempt to correct 5 years of missed opportunity while at the same time getting them to advance in their studies.

Exactly! Also, we should make sure that the school district hires only principals who are already being sued (save the time and trouble of new lawsuits), and let's announce the hiring before doing an internet search.

And enough with buying school furniture. Please. If you have a building, no need to budget to put stuff in it.
