It's longer and full of prettier language but doesn't address the root issue.It's not truly a strong statement because it isn't honest.The attitudes of those terrorists are not rare. The men he listed where white supremacists as well ( no I don't believe we should tear down their statues), but we have to admit that this nation was founded and built on white supremacy. Acts and attitudes of hatred have not gone away. The governor means well I'm sure, but to act like what happened yesterday was an anomaly, that the statutes, don't exist in the town, in the state in the country, that they aren't entwined in the fabric is simply not honest.
Until our leaders can admit that and tackle that, sad to say but there is a place for them in America.

You feel it wasn't a strong statement but it far exceeded Trump's general comment which was minimal at best. Do you feel that the nazi flag should be displayed and like the statue shouldn't be torn down because it's part of history? Most vessels of hatred are or should be in museums with history notations.

I agree that the foundation of the country was built on racism and greed. The annihilation of Native Americans is testament to that. However, the governor was fully able to say what Trump could not or would not say was that there was no place for white supremacists in Virginia or America. Trump could not say it, bottom line.
