Umm, SpaceX/Starlink doesn't launch from Wallops Island.

Where were they launching from? They were Starlink launches visible in VA and NC.

They launch from Florida. You can see 2-3 minutes of the 2nd stage burn from the DC area on pre-dawn SpaceX Florida launches if the sky is clear and dark. The sun over the horizon illuminates the exhaust plume from the 2nd stage in spectacular fashion. You can see the ion trail from the exhaust plume stretching back 20-30 miles from the 2nd stage dengine. It’s an amazing sight.

Yes, it’s quite a sight to behold. It’s amazing to realize you’re seeing a rocket launch from 800 miles away in Florida here in the DC area.

I think it's nice that Hogan took 45 minutes out of this busy time of year to look at the stars. He should do that more often so he doesn't continue confusing them with drones.

I've looked at venus plenty of times at night, when it's a little brighter and star-sized. When a news organization shows a zoomed in version without context, it looks odd

I voted for him for the same reason most people did - because he was, and will again be, a better president than Biden or Harris would be. There really isn’t a great mystery here.

I'm one of the incredulous people who cannot believe how gullible and naive people are to think we are under attack by drones. Seriously, none of the videos in all the reports are showing anything but airplanes. This is just a fact. Here's the thing: I'm not a lib. I think it's actually the libs are gullible enough to just believe what they media is saying, instead of actually looking closely and seeing reality.

It's not a lib thing. Republicans and right wing news were all over it. Are Hogan, Trump and Christie libs? As an independent Harris voter, I'm not freaking out about it, but was wondering what all the fuss was about, especially with the report about the Coast Guard sightings. It's pretty obvious we're not under attack if those extraordinarily large untraceable things have been floating around for months without any damage done. I think the Biden admin could've been more responsive and informative, but they're not the ones calling to shoot them out of the sky.
